I believe art should have a lifespan. Pick your favorite painting, then imagine that painting will be destroyed in 1 year. By destroyed I mean completely. No remains, no ash, nothing. It is gone. Like it never existed. Would you make an effort to go and view it one last time? Or would you just rely on existing photographs?

Would people mourn it’s passing? Would it have an obituary written about it? Would it become more popular, important, powerful after it is gone? Or would it be simply forgotten?

When I switched to Word-Press, I struggled with the idea of blogging and if I could update it enough to keep it relevant. I personally do not like to hear artists talk about their own work. It starts to sound rehearsed and premeditated. Plus, who is listening? I am basically standing on my front porch yelling to anybody who happens by. I would love this blog to be an open dialogue with other artists or anyone interested in the creative process to share.

One reason for the blog is to share my influences. These are the artists, musicians, concepts, objects that have shaped me as a visual artist. I hope it will bring a little insight into my work.
